Tatreez (تطريز) is a detailed form of hand embroidery typical of traditional Palestinian textiles.
During this session, Palestinian Scottish artist Leena Nammari RSA SSA will deliver a talk on the history of Tatreez, the messages stitched into decorative motifs, and its role in heritage preservation. Following this, participants will be guided to try out Tatreez techniques themselves.
This event is supported by the School of Art History's EDI Committee, @79 Makerspace and Art Soc. It offers staff and students a hands-on opportunity to take part in cultural education and develop their artistic skills.
