Resident Artists

(lead workshops, must submit to exhibitions)

The Art Society is seeking artists to lead workshops and participate in our exhibitions throughout the academic year.

Role Description:

Resident Artists are general members of The Art Society and will be at the core of the Art Society’s creative output through leading workshops throughout the year and through participation in our semesterly exhibitions.

Resident Artists are welcome to attend weekly committee meetings to discuss ideas and plan workshops.

All artistic backgrounds and mediums are welcome, including but not limited to: painting, ceramics, embroidery, calligraphy, drawing, photography, etc.

Guaranteed spot on the creative retreat as a photographer (you will have to pay the committee/members’ price, projected £100-200 including transportation and food)

There will be opportunities to assist the committee in planning/running events, attending committee meetings, and free entry to most Art Society events.

Role Requirements:

Resident Artists must be able to teach a minimum of one workshop per semester. Preference will be given to those who can teach multiple workshops, either as independent sessions, or as a series. (Venue, supplies, etc. will be arranged by the committee)

Must submit pieces to semesterly exhibitions, working with Exhibition Coordinators.

Must attend Creative Retreat subcommittee meetings where workshops and schedules will be decided.
