The School of Art History’s EDI committee will be hosting a social event to welcome spring with origami and Japanese tea. Come along to take a break during Revision Week and learn about Japanese culture! More information and tickets are available here. 

We are excited to announce the opening event of our spring semester exhibition, Underwater World! Come along for a daytime event after classes end to enjoy art, people, and music! The exhibition will be on for two weeks at Saints Sizzle.  

We are still accepting submissions for the exhibition! Please submit your artworks using this online form (whether they are traditional or digital media). The deadline is the 17th of April. Traditional media will be collected for display in the following week.

Join Art Soc and Highland Cow Soc for an outing to a local farm! We will meet the cows, have an exclusive tour of the art studio on site, and finally an art session, with drawing and watercolour supplies provided by Art Soc.  

We will be meeting at St Andrews Bus Station at 10:15, but you may also make your own way to Kinkell Byre (please let us know if you plan on doing this). Please bring your own sketchbook and dress according to the weather as we will be outdoors! Tickets can be found on our FIXR and are £10 for members and £12 for non-members.  

Come along to St Mary’s Secret Garden for free food, watercolour painting and Buzztet live music. All in collaboration with Biodiversity Literacy VIP, celebrating Biodiversity Awareness Day. The event is free and materials will be provided.

Come join us for workshop in making illuminated manuscripts in support of the Wardlaw Museum’s Mary, Queen of Scots exhibition! This event is free and materials will be provided. Spaces are very limited, so book them now.

Join us at Aikmans and Art History Society to learn about the life and work of Henri Matisse! We will be making colourful collages inspired by his Fauvist style and “drawing with scissors” technique. Materials will be provided as always. This event will be £2 for members and £4 for non-members.

Tatreez is a detailed form of embroidery typical of traditional Palestinian textiles. Palestinian-Scottish artist Leena Nammari RSA SSA will deliver a talk on the history of Tatreez, and then participants will be guided to try out Tatreez techniques themselves. The event is supported by the School of Art History’s EDI Committee and @79 Makerspace. It offers staff and students a hands-on opportunity to take part in cultural education and develop their artistic skills. Link in our instagram bio.
